A homicide investigation began in Stansbury Park after a man was found dead and a woman sustained serious injuries inside a home. Tooele County authorities reported that a teenager was taken into custody following the incident.
Tooele County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Dane Lerdahl stated that dispatch received reports just after 10:45 a.m. on a Saturday regarding a 14-year-old boy armed with a knife at a residence near Malachite Way and Brigham Road.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found a woman with serious injuries who was transported to a nearby hospital. While officials were clearing the residence, they discovered a deceased man.
The juvenile had left the location before deputies arrived but was located in the neighborhood shortly after and taken into custody without incident, according to Sgt. Lerdahl.
Tooele County sheriff's deputies and police officers are conducting a homicide investigation. No further details were provided.
