Crews responded to a working house fire in West Valley City on August 18, according to a report from SLC
Scanner. The incident, dispatched at 6:00 PM, involved a residence located at 5039 W 3500 S.
Firefighters initially utilized a defensive strategy due to site conditions but transitioned to an offensive attack approximately 20 minutes into the incident. During the fire, crews reported an explosion inside the residence and noted that a nearby power pole was also involved.
While initial reports indicated that one person might be suffering from smoke inhalation, all occupants were able to safely evacuate the residence. No injuries were reported at the scene, and the fire was eventually placed under control.
The fire is considered out and under control.
