SALT LAKE CITY — The Emery cross country team wrapped up its season Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Sugar House Park, highlighted by a runner-up finish from senior Gentry Christiansen in the girls 3A state championship race and several personal and season-best performances across both squads.
CASTLE DALE — The Emery Spartans opened the 2A state football tournament with a thrilling 28-21 victory over the Judge Memorial Bulldogs on Friday, Oct. 23, using key offensive plays and timely defensive stops to secure their spot in the quarterfinals.
Despite an early-season blowout by the Spartans, 48-16, the Bulldogs nearly pulled off the upset against Emery, but late-game heroics from the Spartans elevated the team to a 28-21 opening-round win.
