Weber State University has released its Annual Report for 2024-25, detailing recent developments across student programs, faculty research, and community initiatives.
The report, titled Achieving Brilliance, outlines progress in several key areas including the first cohort of physician assistants, new research endeavors, and expanded educational opportunities at Hill Air Force Base.
In medical education, Weber State's first class of physician assistants is working to address the increasing community demand for qualified medical providers.
Academic research advancements include work by Katrina Twing, an associate professor of microbiology, who is investigating the link between deep-sea volcano vents and life molecules. Additionally, through donor support, the university has secured land near Yellowstone National Park for a future field station intended to study the ecosystem.
Community engagement efforts include a partnership with Hill Air Force Base to expand educational opportunities for military personnel, civilian employees, and their families.
In the area of athletics, NBA star Damian Lillard has been named the new general manager of Weber State’s men’s basketball team.
