The Utah Department of Transportation is alerting drivers to upcoming road and ramp closures in Davis and Salt Lake counties, according to an October 15 report. These closures are scheduled to begin as early as this weekend.
In Davis County, the southbound I-15 off-ramp to 650 North at Exit 335 in Clearfield will close from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, until 4 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19. Crews will be connecting the ramp to a recently realigned section of I-15 as part of the 1800 North Improved project, which includes building a new interchange at 1800 North, widening 1800 North, and constructing a railroad overpass.
Additionally, Pages Lane (1600 North) in Bountiful will close between 475 West and 550 West from Thursday, Oct. 15, through Monday, Jan. 25, 2027. This closure is for drainage relocation to accommodate the FrontRunner 2X project.
In Salt Lake County, the on-ramp from 7800 South to southbound Bangerter Highway in West Jordan will close for 10 days starting Thursday, Oct. 15, while West Jordan City crews work on a nearby waterline.
In Magna, the ramp from westbound SR-201 to I-80 will close for pothole repairs from 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19. During this time, westbound SR-201 traffic will be detoured onto SR-202 to access I-80.
Drivers traveling through Spanish Fork Canyon should prepare for heavy traffic this weekend due to school district fall breaks overlapping with the opening weekend of the general-season buck deer hunt. The heaviest traffic is expected on westbound US-6 on Sunday, Oct. 18, during afternoon and evening hours.
A work zone remains near the junction of US-6 and US-89 in the Thistle area, where traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction for a two-mile stretch. Access to US-89 has been shifted, and drivers turning onto US-89 should follow traffic barrels. These lane closures will remain in place until Sunday, Nov. 15, when a new interchange is scheduled to open.
