The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has issued several recent decisions affecting Utah lands, ranging from the approval of oil wells to the extension of protections for critical water infrastructure.
In the Vernal Field Office area, the BLM approved the Super Pad 1 oil wells. Additionally, the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument received approval for the Paunsaugunt mule deer habitat enhancement project.
The BLM has extended Public Land Order No. 766 and will continue to protect the Utah Lake Drainage Basin and Diamond Fork Systems of the Central Utah Project for an additional 20 years. This extension is intended to safeguard critical water delivery infrastructure.
In Duchesne County, the Bureau approved the Yergensen Oil Wells near Myton. These wells are authorized to produce from existing federal mineral leases on split estate lands located north of Myton city.
Other recent activity in Utah includes the approval of special recreation permits and a film permit by the Moab Field Office. In Washington County, the BLM approved the 2026 Red Bull Rampage on public lands.
Additionally, the Bureau announced that renovations to the Pink House Campground in Clearwater County have been completed.
