Every student at Barnett will receive a backpack filled with school supplies during the school's Open House, according to a notice from the school. The initiative was made possible through the generosity of various community members and organizations.
Costco donated 385 backpacks filled with supplies to support the goal of providing one to every student. Additionally, Jody Hancock donated 60 backpacks filled with school supplies after winning an Amazon-related prize.
A veterans home in Payson also contributed to the effort by assembling and donating 25 backpacks filled with supplies.
The school expressed gratitude to the community for the support, which helps students start the year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
