A former Central Intelligence Agency officer allegedly created a fake intelligence program to steal $40 million in gold bars, according to reports.
David J. Rush was arrested in May and has been charged with theft of public funds.
The charges against Rush follow allegations that he provided false information to the CIA regarding his military history, education, and status as a pilot.
Authorities stated that the former officer was caught with $40 million worth of gold bars.
