The average price for a gallon of gasoline in Ogden rose 7.4 cents per gallon to $4.70 over the past week, according to a weekly GasBuddy survey of 160 stations in the city. This increase represents the highest average price recorded since the initial surge in early March, according to a report published September 20.
The gasoline average in Ogden has risen 41 cents over the last two weeks and increased by $1.07 over the last 11 weeks. Compared to March 2, the average price is $2.01 higher. Local station prices varied, with the cheapest Ogden station priced at $4.49 per gallon and the most expensive at $4.89 per gallon.
Across the state of Utah, the average price rose 9.8 cents per gallon to $4.76 per gallon. On a national level, the average jumped 18.5 cents per gallon to $4.44 per gallon, while the national average price for diesel rose 30.7 cents per gallon to $6.490 per gallon.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, stated in a news release that average gasoline prices rose in virtually every state over the last week. He noted that 45 states saw increases of more than 3 cents per gallon, particularly in the Great Lakes region due to refinery issues. De Haan also noted that diesel rose in every state, with five states seeing increases exceeding 50 cents per gallon due to continued strikes on Russian oil refineries and regional refinery issues in the Great Lakes. He stated that the outlook remains deeply uncertain due to new Houthi attacks and fresh U.S.-Iran escalations.
