The 2026 Republican Primary Election for Garfield County is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Several positions across federal, state, and county levels are contested in this upcoming primary.
Contested Primary Election Races
In the race for U.S. House District 3, voters will choose between Celeste Maloy and Phil Lyman. The contest for State House District 69 includes candidates Daniel Gardner and Logan J Monson. Additionally, four candidates are running for the Garfield County Commission Seat A: William Ralph Perkins, Wallace S Dodds, Richard G Birch, and Michael K Savage.
Voter Eligibility and Registration
To participate in the primary election, voters must be a citizen of the United States, of legal voting age, and a resident of their registered voting precinct. Voters can view sample ballots or verify registration status at vote.utah.gov.
Ballot Submission Deadlines
Under Utah state law, ballots must be received by the Garfield County Clerk’s Office by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, June 23, 2026. Postmarks are no longer counted, meaning a ballot is only valid if it is in the possession of the election officer by the deadline.
Important Election Dates
Key dates for the election process include a Logic and Accuracy Test at the Garfield County Courthouse on June 5. The early voting period runs from June 9 through June 22, though voting will not take place on Friday, June 19, due to the observance of Juneteenth. A post-election audit is scheduled for June 30.
