Ogden City police have released information regarding a motorcycle collision that resulted in the death of a rider on Tuesday along Washington Boulevard.
The victim has been identified as 68-year-old Robert Bow.
According to an Ogden City Police Department statement, officers responded to a serious crash near the 3300 block of Washington Boulevard. Preliminary investigations indicate that a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound on Washington Boulevard when a Ford Escape exited a parking lot at 3355 Washington Boulevard and attempted a left-hand turn.
The motorcycle was unable to avoid the collision and struck the front of the Ford Escape. Mr. Bow died as a result of the crash.
Witnesses and Ogden Fire personnel attempted lifesaving measures at the scene.
The Weber Metro Crash Team has been activated and is continuing to investigate the collision. In their statement, police expressed condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and thanked community members who stopped to assist.
Police officials asked drivers to use extra caution on the roads, noting that summer is often one of the deadliest times for traffic crashes. They urged motorists to slow down, stay alert, and keep a lookout for motorcycles, bicycles, pedestrians, and other vehicles.
