The Tour of the Moon cycling event is set to take place in Colorado National Monument and Fruita, offering participants the choice of 41-mile or 64-mile courses. Registration is limited to the first 2,200 riders, and organizers noted that the event has sold out multiple times in the past.
Participants in the event will receive a commemorative cycling jersey or tech tee, entry into the Colorado National Monument, a bike plate, and a rider bib. The registration also includes access to aid stations with refreshments and a post-ride celebration featuring lunch, a beer garden, an expo, and entertainment. Additionally, the registration fee includes an automatic donation to Bicycle Colorado and One Riverfront.
Registration pricing varies based on the time of purchase. As of the current period, the price for a jersey and ride is $170, while a tech tee and ride is $150. For those registering online before the September 6 deadline, the jersey and ride option is $180 and the tech tee and ride option is $160. Event day prices are $190 for a jersey and ride and $170 for a tech tee and ride.
Safety requirements for the event include mandatory bike lights due to three unlit tunnels in the Colorado National Monument. Cyclists must have a white light visible from 500 feet to the front and a red light visible from 200 feet to the back.
Packet pick-up and walk-up registration will be held at the Grand Junction Convention Center in Downtown Grand Junction on Friday, September 11, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, September 12, from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m.
The Ride Collective notes that while registration is limited, public access to county and city roads, trails, and parking remains available to non-participants. Registration changes, such as jersey size or merchandise, must be completed by August 12.
