The Timpanogos School District Board of Education will hold a series of public hearings on Oct. 21, 2026, to consider the potential consolidation, closure, and boundary adjustment of several schools and programs. These hearings follow a district-wide grade configuration study, with the board expected to take action on high school and middle school grade configurations in December 2026.
Public Hearings Scheduled
The scheduled public hearings on Oct. 21, 2026, will begin at 6:00 PM at the Special Education Building in Lindon and will address multiple elementary and junior high schools. The district is considering various changes that, if approved, would take effect beginning in the 2027-28 school year.
According to district notices, the hearings will address the following locations and programs:
At 6:00 PM, the board will consider the possible consolidation, closure, and boundary adjustment of Windsor Elementary School, including its Spanish Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program.
At 6:05 PM, the board will consider similar changes for Orchard Elementary School, including its Spanish DLI program.
At 6:10 PM, the hearing will focus on Northridge Elementary School.
At 6:15 PM, the board will consider Foothill Elementary School, including its Advanced Learning Lab (ALL) program.
Junior High and Study Session Details
The series of hearings will continue into the evening to address junior high schools and broader boundary adjustments. At 6:20 PM, the board will hold a hearing regarding Canyon View Junior High School.
Following that, a 6:25 PM hearing is scheduled to consider boundary adjustments for a group of junior high schools, including Canyon View Junior High School, Lakeridge Junior High School, Oak Canyon Junior High School, Orem Junior High School, and Pleasant Grove Junior High School.
Prior to the formal hearings, the board will hold a study session at 3:00 PM on Oct. 21, 2026. This session will include discussions regarding a middle school model and various programs, including Dual Language Immersion (DLI), Gifted and Talented (GT/ALL), Special Education (SPED), Life Skills, and Autism & EBD Units.
Grade Configuration Process
The current discussions are part of a larger district effort to reconfigure how grades are distributed across schools. According to the district's meeting agenda for Oct. 21, 2026, the board has scheduled action items to address high school grade configuration (9th-12th grade) and middle school grade configuration (6th-8th grade) and elementary school grade configuration (K-5th grade), contingent on the approval of the 9th-12th grade high school configuration.
This process follows a period of community engagement held in mid-October 2026. The district held cluster meetings on Oct. 12 and Oct. 13, 2026, to receive feedback from school leaders, employees, parents, and community members regarding the grade configuration studies. These meetings were held at Orem High School, Mountain View High School, Timpanogos High School, and Pleasant Grove High School.
District Leadership Background
The district's focus on school boundaries and configurations follows a period of leadership transition earlier in the year. On March 11, 2026, the Timpanogos School District announced a new leadership team selected by Superintendent Dr. Joseph Jensen.
The six-member leadership cabinet includes Katie Bowman for Teaching & Learning (Elementary), Peter Glahn for Teaching & Learning (Secondary), Todd Dawson for People, Culture & Talent, Darren Draper for Learning, Innovation & Technology, Kim Jones for Student & Staff Learning, and David Mower for Operations & Logistics. Dr. Jensen stated the team was assembled to foster a culture where people thrive and processes align with district goals.
Upcoming Board Actions
The Timpanogos School District Board of Education will continue to review these studies through the end of the year. Following the hearings and discussions, the board's next major milestones involve the finalization of the high school and middle school grade configuration models.
