The Grand County Commission will hold a public hearing on Nov. 4, 2026, to consider a proposed ordinance regarding compensation for county officials, according to a Oct. 26 notice. The hearing will focus on a proposed one-time payment intended to serve as a 2026 Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA).
The proposed ordinance would authorize specific payments for elected officials in Grand County. Under the proposal, full-time elected officials would receive a $1,500 payment, while part-time elected officials would receive $750. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM at the County Commission Chambers, located at 125 E. Center St. in Moab, Utah.
During the meeting, the public is invited to attend and provide comments. Any citizen, property owner, or public official may be heard on any agenda subject, though the Chair may limit the number of persons heard and the amount of time allowed for each individual at their sole discretion.
Grand County maintains a policy allowing elected and appointed representatives, staff, and members of the Commission to participate in meetings through electronic means using any form of telecommunication that allows for participation. For those requiring special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the County encourages individuals to contact them two business days in advance of the event.
