BYU, K-State, and Texas Tech earned multiple awards in the Monster Energy Big 12 Football weekly honors, according to a statement from the conference. Houston and TCU also saw players recognized after a week of significant performances in major college football matchups.
Offensive honors were awarded to BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier and Houston quarterback Conner Weigman. Bachmeier recorded 224 passing yards, 45 rushing yards, and four total touchdowns during a 28-24 victory over Notre Dame. He became the first BYU quarterback since Steve Young in the 1983 Holiday Bowl to record a passing, rushing, and receiving touchdown in a single game.
Weigman recorded 343 passing yards and five passing touchdowns in a 35-32 win over Oklahoma State. His 343 yards were the most by a Houston quarterback in a ranked game since 2012, and his five touchdowns were the most ever for a Houston quarterback against a ranked opponent. Weigman is tied for the FBS lead with 26 total touchdowns this season.
Defensive honors included TCU's Koron Hayward and BYU's Cade Uluave. Hayward recorded three sacks and a forced fumble in a 17-6 win over Baylor, making him the only FBS player with three sacks in Week Seven. Uluave recorded nine tackles and three QB hurries to help the Cougars hold Notre Dame 20 points below their scoring average.
Texas Tech's defensive line was named Offensive Line of the Week, having recorded six sacks in a win over Arizona State. This marked the most sacks in a Big 12 game this season and the highest number for the Red Raiders since last season.
Special teams honors went to Texas Tech's Stone Harrington and Kansas State's Luis Rodriguez. Harrington made four field goals—from 31, 34, 37, and 42 yards—contributing 17 points in a win over Arizona State. Rodriguez went 4-for-4 on field goals and 3-for-3 on extra points, helping K-State secure its 18th consecutive rivalry win over Kansas.
Nick McClellan of Kansas State was named Freshman of the Week following his first career start. McClellan recorded three tackles, two tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and a pass breakup in the rivalry win over the Jayhawks.
