Real Salt Lake is scheduled to travel to Philadelphia on Saturday, Oct. 12, to face the Philadelphia Union as the Major League Soccer season resumes, according to an Oct. 6 statement. The match will feature a 5:30 p.m. MT kickoff as the club looks to end a road winless streak spanning 12 games across all competitions.
The Claret-and-Cobalt enters the matchup with a 9W-13L-5T record and 32 points, sitting tied for 10th in the West. The team expects the return of several players for the contest, including Juan Manuel Sanabria, Saba Lobjanidze, Luca Moisa, Colin Guske, Kobi Henry, Luc de Fougerolles, Dušan Žagar, Zach Booth, and Ariath Piol.
Philadelphia enters the match with an 11W-10L-6T record and 39 points. The Union have won six consecutive MLS matches and 10 of their last 12 contests. Their roster includes 17-year-old Cavan Sullivan, who has recorded six goals and eight assists in his last eight MLS matches.
Historically, Real Salt Lake has struggled in Philadelphia, with a record of 2W-1L-4T in seven visits to Subaru Park. Their last visit to the venue occurred on April 27, 2024, where they won 2-1 due to a late goal by Alex Katranis. In 12 all-time meetings between the two clubs, RSL has secured five wins and six draws, while the Union has achieved only one victory, which occurred in May 2019.
Real Salt Lake last competed on Sept. 26, when they defeated New England 3-0 at home. During that match, Sergi Solans scored two goals, bringing his 2026 total to 15 goals across all competitions. The victory ended a 13-game winless run in MLS action. Under head coach Pablo Mastroeni, who has managed the club in 215 matches, RSL maintains an 11-4-3 record on Utah soil this season.
