Logan City has introduced a streamlined application process for neighborhoods and residents to host local block parties as part of the America 250 Celebration. The program is designed to foster community cohesion and celebration while ensuring safety during the festivities.
Event timing and road closures
The process allows for the closing of local residential roads with limited traffic for up to four hours. Available time slots include July 3 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., or July 4 between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Road eligibility and restrictions
Certain restrictions apply to these closures. Only local residential roads are eligible, while arterial roads, collector streets, and primary emergency response routes are strictly ineligible. Additionally, neighborhoods are limited to a maximum of two road closures that cannot be adjacent to each other. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Organizer responsibilities and requirements
Organizers must ensure that 100% of residents affected by a street closure provide consent. A dedicated organizer or host who lives within the closure area must serve as the point of contact and remain present for the entire duration of the closure.
Application steps and contact info
To apply, residents must submit a City Sponsored Special Event Application along with a signed Petition of Consent at least 15 days before the event. The application fee is waived for this process. For questions, individuals may call (435) 716-9008.
