The official ballot for the Emery County general election has been released, according to a September 2 document. The election is scheduled for November 3, 2026.
The ballot features several federal and county-level contests. For U.S. House District 3, voters will choose between candidates. County offices listed include Commissioner A, Commissioner B, Treasurer, Attorney, Clerk/Auditor, Recorder, and Sheriff. Local school board representation for Emery County School District #5 is also on the ballot.
Voters will also decide on several judicial retention questions. These include retention votes for Jill M. Pohlman in the Utah Supreme Court, as well as Michele M. Christiansen Forster, David Ned Mortensen, John David Luthy, Ryan M. Harris, Amy Jo Oliver, and Gregory Keith Orme in the Utah Court of Appeals. Additionally, voters will decide on the retention of Craig Miles Bunnell for the Seventh Juvenile Court District and Jon R. Carpenter for the Emery County Justice Court.
Two proposed constitutional amendments are included on the ballot. Constitutional Amendment A asks if the Utah Constitution should be amended to change how proposed constitutional amendments are published, potentially requiring publication on the Utah Public Notice Website and the Lieutenant Governor's website for 60 days before the election. Constitutional Amendment B asks if the Utah Constitution should be amended to require that citizen-proposed laws increasing taxes be approved by at least 50% of voters rather than a simple majority.
Voters are instructed to use a black or blue ballpoint pen to fill in the ovals next to their chosen candidates. If a ballot is torn, defaced, or wrongly marked, voters are advised to contact the County Clerk's office.
