Oregon coach Melyssa Lombardi announced Wednesday that right-handed pitcher Kate Dahles is transferring to the University of Oregon. The Tremonton, Utah native, who played for Bear River High School, will be a junior for the 2027 season.
Dahle joins the Ducks as the second player to transfer from BYU this summer, following outfielder Ilove'a Brittingham.
During her two seasons at BYU, Dahle recorded a 14-12 record with a 3.73 ERA across 62 games and struck out 154 batters in 178.1 innings. In her 2025 sophomore season, she posted a 2.60 ERA, which ranked second on the BYU team and 11th in the Big 12.
As a sophomore, Dahle also ranked fifth in the conference for strikeouts per seven innings pitched at a rate of 6.6. During her freshman campaign in 2024, she led the Big 12 with four saves and finished with a 6-6 record.
Lombardi described Dahle as a competitor with great energy on the mound and elite movement. The coach noted that Dahle has the ability to induce a high percentage of ground balls and stated that her changeup will be significant in disrupting hitters' timing.
Dahle expressed that she chose Oregon because of its winning tradition, championship culture, and the opportunity to learn from the coaching staff.
A native of Logan, Utah, Dahle was a three-time Utah 4A first team All-State selection at Bear River High School. Her high school career included two 4A state championships and being named the 2023 4A Deseret News Player of the Year.
