Weber Fire District performs regular inspections across various facilities and activities to help ensure they meet safety standards and comply with fire regulations. These inspections cover a wide range of services, including food trucks, business licenses, and residential or commercial developments.
Required inspections include in-home daycares, daycare facilities, group homes, and nursing homes, as well as fire suppression, fire alarm, and kitchen hood systems. Additionally, the Fire Marshal's Office may deem other inspections necessary.
For business licenses, daycares, group homes, and nursing homes, applicants must email specific business and contact information to Jolene at jwhipple@weberfiredistrict.gov. This information should include the business name, billing and physical addresses, and contact person details. Following payment of an emailed invoice, the Fire Marshal's Office will schedule a date and time for the inspection.
Food truck inspections are typically scheduled at Station 61, located at 2023 W 1300 N, Farr West, UT. While these can be held there, an increased fee applies if an onsite inspection is requested. Food truck applicants must also email their business name, billing address, and contact information to jwhirable@weberfiredistrict.gov.
The Weber Fire District Board of Trustees approved a new fee schedule effective January 1, 2026. For all other inspections involving commercial or residential buildings and fire systems, the process is covered under Fire Prevention Plan Reviews.
After payment is received for any inspection type, individuals should allow up to 14 business days for the inspection to occur. The district advises that businesses should be completely set up and ready for operation by that time.
