Weber State volleyball bounced back to win Saturday at Idaho, while women’s soccer beat Colorado State at home to finish the team’s nonconference schedule, according to a September 28 report. The WSU dance squad also earned international honors at a recent championship competition.
The volleyball team split its first weekend of Big Sky play on the road. After dropping a 3-1 decision at Eastern Washington, the Wildcats rebounded with a 3-1 victory at Idaho on Saturday. After losing the first set in extra points, WSU swept the remaining sets with scores of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-19. Rose Moore recorded 17 kills, Ziya Munyer had 12, and Stacia Barker added 10. The Wildcats outhit the Vandals .286 to .180. Weber State (8-4, 1-1) is scheduled to return to Swenson Gym for a home weekend against Portland State on Thursday and Northern Arizona on Saturday.
Weber State soccer (4-5-1) ended a three-game skid with a 3-1 home victory over Colorado State on Friday night. Lauren Butorac recorded six saves during the match. After a scoreless first half, Cadence Packer scored in the 50th minute following a scramble in front of the net. Mia Casey tied the game for the Rams in the 57th minute, but an own goal by CSU just 24 seconds later put Weber State back in the lead. Lily Blum secured the win in the 60th minute by scoring on a one-on-one opportunity with keeper Addison Huber. The Rams now move into conference play on the road against Idaho on Thursday and Eastern Washington on Sunday.
The WSU dance squad won gold in hip hop performance and silver in jazz performance at the International Cheer Union’s 2026 Pan-American Championships held in Mexico City. Coached by Erica Williams Jordan, the team represented the United States in a nine-country competition that included participants from Barbados, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Jamaica, Mexico, and Panama.
