The son of Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert has been arrested on felony charges including child sexual exploitation, according to a report published August 10.
Tyler Boebert was arrested on August 6, though court documents indicate the alleged crimes occurred in January of 2024. The arrest follows an investigation by the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office and a felony review by the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
The felony charges against Tyler Boebert include causing a child to make sexually explicit material, possessing sexually exploitative material of a child with the intent to distribute it, and possessing sexually exploitative video of a child. He also faces two charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. All charges were issued under Colorado Statute 18-6-403.
According to jail records, his bond was set at $10,000, and he was released on Sunday. The alleged crimes took place approximately one month before he was charged in connection to a separate series of break-ins in Rifle.
Rep. Lauren Boebert stated that she loves her son and that the family is taking the allegations seriously while praying for those affected during the challenging time.
Rep. Lauren Boebert represents Colorado’s 4th Congressional District, which encompasses the eastern plains, parts of the front range, and parts of El Paso County. She previously represented Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, covering the western slope and parts of southern Colorado.
