The No. 2 Kanab Cowboys won the 2A baseball state championship on Saturday at Miller Park on the BYU campus. Latimer Glover and Kanon Virostly homered to help Kanab defeat No. 4 San Juan with a score of 13-6.
Brady Ramsay earned the win on the mound for Kanab, recording eight strikeouts over seven innings. This victory marks the sixth all-time state championship for the Cowboys, following titles in 1978, 1979, 2009, 2023, 2024, and 2026.
In the 2A one-loss bracket, Nache Young homered for No. 4 San Juan during an 11-1 victory over No. 11 Gunnison Valley. Baylor Nielson earned the win with four strikeouts in 5.1 innings. Following this win, San Juan was scheduled to face Kanab in the state championship bracket.
In 3A softball playoff action, the No. 3 Union Cougars defeated No. 14 Providence Hall 10-0. Payzlei Parrish drove in four runs, while Haylee Moynier recorded 18 strikeouts in six innings to earn the win.
Also in 3A softball, the No. 4 Logan Grizzlies beat No. 13 Delta 14-3. Cambree Cooper homered and pitched five innings with five strikeouts to secure the win for the Grizzlies, while Joslyn Christiansen drove in two runs for Delta.
In the 1A softball championship bracket at Gail Miller Field, the No. 1 Milford Tigers defeated No. 2 Altamont 12-10. Reese Wunderlich drove in three runs and Halle Wiseman earned the win with a strikeout in 4.2 innings of work. For Altamont, Hadley Mecham, Reaylee Stevenson, Kate Lindsay, Ollie Farr, and Preslee Thacker each drove in one run.

In 3A, No. 4 Juab defeated No. 3 North Sanpete 2-1, and No. 6 Manti beat No. 9 Carbon 2-0.
In 2A, No. 3 Draper APA won the 3rd-4th place match against No. 5 Maeser Prep with a score of 2-0, while No. 8 Utah Military Hill Field defeated No. 7 Vanguard 2-0 in the 5th-6th place match.
