Creed Thompson secured first place in the 10,000-meter run during the Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, helping BYU earn 108 points in the men's team competition.
Thompson, a senior at BYU, completed the 10,000-meter race with a time of 29:20.31. The event took place on Thursday as part of the championships held May 14-16, 2026.
The victory helped BYU finish second in the men's overall team standings with 108 points, trailing only Texas Tech, which finished with 119.52 points.
Thompson's performance at the championships follows a successful season for the BYU athlete, including a first-place finish in the 5,000-meter run at the 2026 BYU Robison Invitational.
