Bishop Gorman High School has announced its varsity football schedule for the 2026-2027 season, headlined by several nationally televised matchups and heavy-weight contests against prominent programs from California and Florida.
High-Profile National Matchups Scheduled
The Gaels' upcoming campaign begins on August 14 with a home game against Somerset Losee. The schedule quickly escalates in difficulty, featuring a matchup against California's St. John Bosco on August 21, which has been designated as a MaxPreps Game of the Week.
On August 29, Bishop Gorman is scheduled to travel to face Columbus in Florida. This specific contest is slated for an ESPN broadcast, marking a significant national media opportunity for the Las Vegas-based program.
Road Trips and Homecoming Plans
The non-conference slate continues with several road trips and home games against elite competition. The team will travel to face Mater Dei of California on September 18, following a matchup against Utah's Lone Peak on September 4.
Returning to Las Vegas, the Gaels will host Faith Lutheran for their homecoming game on September 25. The late-season schedule includes matchups against Pinecrest Sloan Canyon on October 9, Slam Academy on October 16, and Mater East on October 30, before concluding the season against Civica Academy on November 6.
Coaching Staff Assignments
The Bishop Gorman football coaching staff for the upcoming season is led by Head Coach Brent Browner. The offensive unit will be managed by Offensive Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach Craig Canfield, supported by Kea Toledo and Mike Flanagan, who both serve as coaches for the offensive line.
The defensive side of the ball will be directed by Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Line/Strength & Conditioning coach Michael Cosgrove. Other key members of the staff include Brandon Marshall coaching linebackers, Chad Kapanui overseeing quarterbacks, Roy Otis managing running backs, Marcus Nash coaching wide receivers, and Jamaal Brimmer and Bene' Benwikere leading the defensive backs.
Championship Legacy and History
The program maintains a storied history of success, as evidenced by an extensive list of championship titles. The school has secured numerous AAA and AAAA state championships dating back to 1970, with more recent dominance including consecutive AAAAA state championships in 2024 and 2025.
In addition to state-level success, the Gaels have achieved national prominence, claiming National Championship titles in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2023.

As the school prepares for the fall season, student-athletes are reminded that all participants must be registered via the Aktivate platform. The school requires a completed Athletic Packet to be uploaded as a single PDF file to ensure eligibility for tryouts and participation.
Additionally, the school's athletic department noted that summer office hours run from Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, through July 31, 2026.
