Larry M Taylor passed away on July 28, 2026, in Price at the age 81 following a battle with pancreatic cancer. A long-time resident of Carbon County, Taylor was born in Price on January 20, 1945, to Roland Rees and Arvilla Mikkelsen Taylor.
Taylor graduated from Carbon High School in 1963 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam, receiving an honorable discharge with the rank of Sergeant after four years of service.
He spent 27 years with the Utah Highway Patrol, serving in Salt Lake, Provo, and Southeastern Utah, eventually retiring with the rank of Lieutenant. He was also a former Vice-President of the Four State Peace Officers Association.
Taylor was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Price Elks Lodge # 1550, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2379.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine; two sons, Douglas Taylor and Roger (Boni) Taylor; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alene Siefert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jean; two daughters, Shelley and a daughter-in-law, Teresa; and a brother-in-law, Dudley Siefert.
A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cliffview Cemetery in Price, Utah. Family will receive friends at the Mitchell Funeral Home on East Main Street in Price from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. that Saturday morning prior to the service.
