The Raven’s Heart Gallery Fall Show and Artists’ Reception was scheduled for Friday, October 2, from 6-9 p.m. at 57 West Center Street in Kanab, according to a September 23 report. This event is considered the largest show of the year for the gallery.
The reception featured fifteen fine artists and showcased new works from a roster of more than 30 regional artists. The collection included various mediums such as paintings, photography, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, and mixed media. The gallery's offerings range from small artworks to statement pieces in various sizes and price points.
Gallery Director Colleen Tomlin and her team re-hang and redisplay the entire gallery for the event. The featured artists included Aiden Dale, Andrea Andrea Johnson, Angela Woods, Bonnie Dunn, Colleen Tomlin, Cyrus Mejía, Dara Daniel, David Lane, Ellie Mae Clough, Gary Kalpakoff, Josh Baird, Karin Madsen, Ken Ragsdale, Natalie Gula, and Willamarie Huelskamp. Some participants are local to Kanab while others travel to meet collectors.
Co-owners Cyrus Mejía and Gary Kalpakoff opened the Raven’s Heart Gallery in the fall of 2015. According to Pat Guerrero, President of the Kanab Area Chamber of Commerce, events like the fall show encourage local spending and help strengthen the local economy.
