Lakeview Elementary is observing an early-out schedule for the week of October 5 through October 9, according to a report published October 6. The school is also holding SEP Conferences from October 7 through October 9, with dismissal at 1:10 p.m. during this period.
The school is hosting several upcoming events and deadlines for students and families. On October 15, Shoreline Middle School will host Parent University for families with children in PreK–3rd grade from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This event, focused on family literacy, will include reading activities, a family dinner, a free book for every child, and a 360° family photo experience.
On October 16, the Community Council will meet at Lakeview at 8:40 a.m. Additionally, entries for the Reflections Arts Program, themed "What My Culture Means to Me," are due on October 16. The program invites students to explore creativity through categories such as Visual Arts 2D & 3D, Photography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, and Dance Choreography.
Lakeview Elementary will observe fall break from October 21 through October 26. During this break, the Provo Recreation Center will offer Fall Break Camps for ages 8–12 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. These camps cost $40 for residents and $50 for non-residents per day and include lunch and swim time. Specific camp themes include "It's a Mystery" on October 22, "Creepy Chemistry" on October 23, and "Halloween Fun" on October 26.
The school is working to improve safety during drop-off and pick-up. While the installation of signage and fencing has improved crosswalk use, officials noted challenges with vehicles stopping in pick-up lanes. To maintain traffic flow, the school requests that drivers do not leave vehicles unattended in the curb or through lanes and suggests using the parking lot if waiting for more than a few minutes. Students are also asked not to play games in the front area while waiting for pick-up.
Other upcoming dates include a picture retake day on October 27 and a Halloween Parade scheduled for October 30 at 8:45 a.m.
