The Spurs' defense recorded its best first quarter of the season, holding Utah to 16 points and 27 percent shooting. Although Utah cut the lead to 36-35 during the second quarter, San Antonio responded with a 14-5 run to enter halftime with a 50-40 advantage.
Following a second-half timeout called by head coach Mitch Johnson due to transition defense concerns, the Spurs closed the third quarter with a 23-11 run to take control. Stephon Castle, recovering from a migraine on Saturday, contributed 16 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Dylan Harper led the scoring with 17 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds, while Keldon Johnson provided 15 points for the second unit.
Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox each recorded 12 points, with Wembanyama also adding 11 rebounds. Luke Kornet contributed eight points and five rebounds in 16 minutes of play.
