Utah Symphony | Utah Opera announced a seven-stop summer concert tour designed to celebrate Utah's cultural heritage and the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States. The 'Music Elevated State Tour' will feature free outdoor performances across several Utah communities over an 11-day period.
Tour Schedule and Locations
The tour, which the organization described as its longest state tour to date, includes scheduled performances in Wellsville on June 30, Springville on July 2, Salt Lake City at the Utah State Capitol on July 3, and Midway on July 4. Additional stops are planned for Fillmore on July 7, Cedar City on July 8, and Bryce Canyon Rim at Ruby’s Inn on July 10.
Musical Repertoire and Program Details
According to a press release from Utah Symphony | Utah Opera, the program will feature a mix of classical works, Broadway selections, and American folk music. The repertoire includes pieces such as John Williams' 'Liberty Fanfare' and Aaron Copland's 'Hoe-Down from Rodeo,' as well as works honoring the legacy of former music director Maurice Abravanel.
Educational Programs and Featured Soloists
The summer tour also includes music education activities and the Pioneer Fiddle Project. Soloists for selected works will include soprano Amy Owens and violinist Aubree Oliverson.
