The City of St. George Water Services is working to install new water meter reading devices for customers. These devices allow users to monitor water usage every 15 minutes via a phone app, computer, or tablet.
The new technology is designed to help customers identify problems quickly and set alerts for leaks. According to the city, these devices help residents use water wisely and save money on water bills.
The department also issued a notice stating the water system violated a drinking water monitoring requirement over the past year. Officials stated these violations were not due to a health standard exceedance and did not affect water quality.
The mission of St. George Water Services is to effectively and efficiently manage and optimize the complete water cycle. This includes managing the source of drinking and irrigation water, treating water to meet regulations, and managing the collection and treatment of wastewater for reuse or environmental return.
