Ohio State moved up to No. 2 in the latest AP Top 25 poll, according to a report published October 25, 2026. Miami was the only team to maintain its position in the rankings as the poll underwent a major reordering.
The ranking changes occurred following BYU's loss to UCF in double overtime on Saturday. The Cougars dropped six spots to No. 8 in the poll, marking their first loss of the season.
The recent poll reflects a volatile season for college football. In the last three weeks, ten teams ranked in the top 10 have dropped in the standings, including three teams previously ranked at No. 1 or No. 2 that lost to unranked opponents.
According to Sportradar, Miami, Utah, and UCLA are the only remaining unbeaten Bowl Subdivision teams. This represents the fewest number of unbeaten teams at this point in a season since 1977, when only three teams remained undefeated.
