Davis High secured a ticket to the 6A state title game after a 3-2 victory over Farmington on Monday, Oct. 19, 2026, at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman. The Darts overcame the Phoenix in the semifinals to earn a rematch against No. 1 Lone Peak.
Davis scoring leader Kate Willard scored twice during the match, capitalizing on chances created 32 seconds apart by Marley Francis and captain Samantha Maudsley to start the first half with a 2-1 lead. Maudsley later scored a go-ahead goal with less than 20 minutes remaining in the second half after being spotted by senior Avery Johnson.
Davis coach Dillon Richens noted that the team's grit helped them secure the win. He stated that the team played the final 15 minutes with full heart and that such effort provides a chance in high-stakes games.
Farmington, which entered the match with a 13-6 record, managed to score one goal in the semifinal rematch. Oaklee Stanford, a local college recruiting prospect, netted the first goal of the match to set the tone. Addy Webb tied the match three minutes before the halftime break.
Despite the loss, Farmington has scored nine goals against the Darts over three matches this season. Davis, which holds a 15-4 record, had previously lost a 4-3 match to Farmington earlier this month.
The victory sets up a state title rematch at Zions Bank Stadium against Lone Peak. Davis lost the 2024 state title game to the Knights with a 2-0 shutout. Davis previously won state titles in 2020 and 2022, with the latter occurring before Richens took over as head coach in 2023.
Davis is scheduled to face No. 1 Lone Peak for the 6A state title on Friday morning at Zions Bank Stadium.
