As part of the America 250 May theme regarding the Civil War, Santa Clara Town Hall will host a lecture and quilt show on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
The event includes a presentation titled The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln and a display of Underground Railroad quilts.
Vince Brown, who serves as the Instructor and Director of the Utah Tech Institute of Politics, will deliver the lecture from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The presentation will cover President Lincoln's creation of a Team of Rivals within his cabinet.
In conjunction with the lecture, several Underground Railroad quilts will be available for viewing. These quilts feature coded messages embedded in patterns that were used by enslaved people during the 19th century to navigate secret routes toward freedom.
The quilt show will be on display at the Santa Clara Town Hall from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The venue is located at 2603 Santa Clara Drive, Santa Clara, Utah 84765.
