A Taylorsville officer-involved shooting occurred at the Callaway Apartments after officers were dispatched to investigate a possible burglary, according to a report published August 17.
Officers arrived at the scene around 10:24 p.m. after a caller reported being stabbed while officers were en route to the apartment complex.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a male holding a knife outside the apartment. Two Taylorsville officers discharged their firearms during the encounter. The 23-year-old Caucasian male suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The victim was located inside the apartment and was transported to a hospital in critical condition. The victim is now reported to be stable with non-life-threatening injuries.
Salt Lake City PD is leading the investigation into the officer-involved shooting.
