A November 6 update regarding the production of Finding Nemo outlines several upcoming dates for students and parents. The update includes details for a musical theater workshop, group auditions, and scheduled performances.
A Finding Nemo: Intro to Musical Theater workshop is scheduled for Friday, November 20, after school from 1:30 to 3:00. This workshop, suggested by Disney, aims to provide students an idea of participating in the show by introducing the plot and characters, practicing singing, acting, and dancing, developing an ensemble sense, and assessing student interests and strengths. All three directors will be present to work on these goals.
A parent meeting is scheduled for Friday, November 20, from 3:00 to 3:30, immediately following the workshop. The meeting will cover practice and performance schedules. Parents will be asked to sign up to assist with the production, as each participating student's parent is asked to help with two or more tasks.
Group auditions are scheduled to take place after school from 3:30 to 4:30 on the following dates:
Tuesday, December 8, for all fourth graders
Wednesday, December 9, for all fifth graders
Thursday, December 10, for all sixth graders
Students are not required to prepare anything specific for these auditions. Callbacks for invited students are scheduled for Friday, December 11, after school.
Practices are scheduled to begin Wednesday, January 6, from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM. During this first practice, casting will be announced and Finding Nemo scripts will be distributed. Students will read through the script and listen to the music. A subsequent practice is scheduled for Friday, January 8, from 7:30 to 8:30 AM. Regular practices will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Performances for the production are scheduled for March 25-26, 2027, at the Bountiful High Auditorium.
