North Logan is moving forward with a project to construct a roundabout at the current two-way stop intersection of 1200 East and 3100 North. According to a North Logan City document, the project is expected to serve as a key component of multiple corridor improvements involving 1200 East and 3100 North.
The 1200 East corridor provides north-south connectivity from 400 North in Logan to the northern edge of Hyde Park, with future plans to extend to Smithfield. 3100 North is described as a regionally significant road that recently saw completion and now carries over 8,000 vehicles per day, in addition to hundreds of pedestrians and cyclists using the associated 8-foot multi-use path.
This roundabout project will coincide with Cache County's planned improvements to 1200 East located directly north of the intersection.
Other North Logan Council of Governments projects include construction on 1200 East between 2300N and 2750N, where the south half of the project is complete and final right-of-way acquisition is occurring. Additionally, designs for 200E have been finalized and the City is working on appraisals for acquisition. For the 600E project between 2200N and 2500N, designs are complete and right-of-way has been acquired, with construction scheduled to begin in early 2025.
