Fishlake National ForestUpdated Cottonwood Fire Closure OrderPROHIBITIONSPursuant to 16 U.S.C. 551 and 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited in the National Forest System (NFS) lands, roads, and trail within the Beaver Ranger District of the Fishlake National Forest, which is closed or safety due to wildland fire: Entering or being in an area. 36 CFR § 261.52(e)Being on the Road 36 CFR § 261.54(e)being on a Trail. 36 CFR § 261.55(a)EXEMPTIONSPursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted By Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order or a written determination by a Forest Service authorized officer that a permit is not required under 36 C.F.R. § 251.50(e)(1) or (2).Any Federal, State, or Local Officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty. AREA DESCRIBEDArea Closure: the area closed by this Order is depicted on the Map attached hereto as Exhibit A, which is incorporated herein by reference and is generally described as: Beginning at the administrative Forest boundary and State Road 153 north along the administrative Forest boundary to the intersection of Forest Road 119; North along Forest Road 119 to the junction of Forest Trail 054; West along Forest Trail 054 to the Beaver/Piute County line, East along the County line to the intersection of Forest Road 123; east along Forest Trail 074 to the intersection of Forest Road 126; east along Forest Road 126 to the administrative Forest boundary; South along the administrative Forest boundary to the western administrative Forest boundary; north along the administrative Forest boundary to the intersection of the Forest boundary and State Road 153. All roads and trails within the above-described area are closed. Closed Roads:SR 153, 095, 122, 607, 991, 988, 990, 589, 520, 119, 123, 126, 1105, 611, 615, 133, 121, 008, 1004, 1002.Closed Trails: PST 01, PST 34, PST 29, PST 05, PST 26, PST 68, 065, 064, 223, 062, 060, 061, 228, 225, 072, 073.PURPOSEThe purpose of this Order is to protect public health and safety during The Cottonwood Fire and post fire containment. IMPLEMENTATIONThis shall be in effect from July 06, 2026, at 06:00 and will remain in effect until December 31, 2026, unless rescinded. A map identifying the Described Area is attached and made part of this Order as Exhibit A. Unless otherwise expressly defined in this Order, the terms used in this Order are defined by the regulations of the Secretary of Agriculture, 36 C.F.R. Chapter II, Parts 200-299. If there are terms in this Order that are not expressly defined in the Order or 36 C.F.R. Chapter II, Parts 200-299, their meaning shall be determined by their plain language definitions.
