The voting period for Taylor Elementary School Community Council elected members is currently open. The deadline to participate in the election is Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 11:59 pm.
Interested parents can cast their votes by logging into their myDSD accounts. Voters are asked to select three of the five available nominees.
The Community Council serves to involve parents in school decision-making processes aimed at school improvement. Elected parents act as representatives for the voices of all Taylor Elementary parents.
Responsibilities of the council include participating in the development of plans for school improvement, making decisions regarding the utilization of School Land Trust Program funds, and increasing public awareness of School Land Trust and related policies.
The current nominees for the council are Savana Olson, Heather Hulse, McKenzie Keene, Peyton Craighill, and Kara Hale.
Savana Olson stated she is a parent and active community member who wants to help represent family needs and encourage open communication.
H Heather Hulse noted that her children attend Taylor Elementary and expressed interest in learning more about school operations to help create positive change with school goals.
M McKenzie Keene, who has volunteered at the school since 2018 and holds a degree in Elementary Education, stated she wants to support teachers and students and provide input on important decisions.
P Peyton Craighill is a parent of two children enrolled at the school and expressed interest in helping the school community.
K Hale, a former special education teacher in the Davis School District with four children who have attended Taylor Elementary, stated she is committed to using trust land funding to address the greatest needs at the school.
