The Snow College men's soccer team traveled to Ottumwa, Iowa, to compete in the IHCC Classic, according to an August 31 report. The Badgers began the two-day tournament with a 2-2 draw against Indian Hills Community College before finishing the event with a 4-0 loss to Mohave Community College.
The Badgers' first match in the IHCC Classic was against the No. 1 ranked Indian Hills Community College, marking the first historical meeting between the schools. Snow College took an early 1-0 lead in the seventh minute when Michael Martinez assisted JJ Cubillas, marking Cubillas' third goal of the season.
Indian Hills responded by leveling the score in the 15th minute and taking a 2-1 lead in the 24th minute. Dylan Meek tied the game for the Badgers in the 30th minute following a pass from Jorge Beltan. While the second half remained scoreless, Snow College received a red card in the 64th minute, forcing them to play with fewer players for the final 26 minutes. The match ended in a 2-2 draw.
In their second game of the tournament, the Badgers faced No. 4 Mohave Community College. Mohave established a 3-0 lead by halftime. Although the Badgers outshot the Bighorns 14-13 during the match, they suffered a 4-0 defeat.
Snow College was scheduled to travel to Rangely, Colorado, to play Colorado Northwestern Community College on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. to begin Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
