Vanguard Academy is increasing student access to higher education through expanded concurrent enrollment partnerships with Salt Lake Community College and Snow College, allowing motivated high schoolers to earn both high school and college credit.
Eligibility requirements for enrollment
The concurrent enrollment programs are available to high school juniors and seniors who maintain at least a B average or an ACT composite score of 22 or higher. Sophomores may also participate if they have a minimum GPA of B+ and receive a recommendation from their counselor, according to Vanguard Academy's frequently asked questions.
Fees and course delivery methods
Students enrolling through Snow College must pay a $30 application fee, while all participating Utah colleges charge a reduced tuition of $5 per credit hour for these courses. The academy also offers interactive video conferences and hybrid courses through Snow College to facilitate learning.
Distance Learning Program details
Beyond traditional classroom settings, the academy operates a specialized Distance Learning Program designed as an academic accommodation. The program serves families navigating unique circumstances that make daily in-person attendance unmanageable, aiming to prevent chronic absenteeism by providing necessary curriculum resources remotely.
CTE programs and compliance
