Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National ForestsOgden Ranger District Road And Trailhead ClosuresPROHIBITIONSPursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on the National Forest System Road and Trailhead in the Ogden Ranger District, Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forests. Described below and shown on the attached map incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A. This Order will be in effect July 20, 2026, and shall remain in effect until December 21, 2026, unless rescinded.Being in/upon the Wheatgrass Road (Forest Service Road #20139), and Wheatgrass Trailhead, this includes all motorized vehicles, pedestrians, hikers, equestrians, and bicycles, as described below and as shown on attached map. [36 CFR 261.53(e)]EXEMPTIONSPursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:Persons with Forest Service Permit specifically exempting them from this Order or a written determination by a Forest Service authorized officer that a permit is not required under 36 C.F.R. § 251.50(e)(1) or (2).Any federal, state, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting resource in the performance of an official duty.Federal or state administrative personnel in performance of an official duty.DESCRIBEDWheatgrass Road (Forest Service Road #20139) is closed 1.29 miles from the junction with Causey Dam Overlook Road (Forest Service Road #20016) to the Wheatgrass Trailhead at the end of the road located in Township 7 North, Range 3 East, Sections 26, 27and 34 all within the Salt Lake Based Meridian, as shown on the attached map.Wheatgrass Trailhead is closed located in Township 7 North, Range 3 East, Section 26 all within the Salt Lake Based Meridian, as shown on attached map.
PURPOSEThe Wheatgrass Road and Wheatgrass Trailhead are closed for public safety to facilitate roadway construction activities.IMPLEMENTATIONThis Order will be in effect when signed July 20, 2026, and shall remain in effect until December 21, 2026, unless rescinded.A map identifying the road is attached and made part of this Order as Exhibit A. Chapter II, Parts 200-299. If there are terms in this Order that are not expressly defined in the Order or 36 C.F.R.
