The Cache County Sheriff's Office has located a person of interest sought in connection with a burglary involving property damage and domestic violence. The individual identified as Shane Hess was found after an initial search by authorities on Monday.
Hess was observed fleeing on foot when Cache County Sheriff deputies arrived at an unspecified location around 1 p.m. Monday.
During the search, a perimeter was established with help from Logan City Police and the Utah Highway Patrol. The Cache County Sheriff's Office K-9 team conducted a brief track, though that effort did not initially locate the suspect.
A CCSO statement noted that schools in the area were temporarily placed on a secure protocol while deputies searched the vicinity.
The Cache County Sheriff's Office announced at 6:13 p.m. Monday that Hess had been located.
