Northern Illinois University officials announced Wednesday that the football game against the BYU Cougars would be moved to Huskie Stadium. The contest was originally scheduled to take place at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview.
The move was prompted by restrictive stadium capacity limits and safety measures implemented by the state of Illinois during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to NIU officials. NIU Associate Vice-President and Director of Athletics Sean T. Frazier stated that the university continues to adapt to the changes brought by COVID-19 to make the best decisions for student-athletes and fans.
As a result of the change, NIU scheduled five Saturday home games and six total games at Huskie Stadium for 2020. This was the second game on the Huskies' 2020 schedule to undergo changes, following a previous adjustment to the NIU-Buffalo game due to NCAA recommendations regarding Election Day.
Patrons who purchased tickets for the NIU-BYU game directly through SeatGeek will receive refunds. Those ticket holders have the option to purchase tickets for the game at Huskie Stadium online or will be contacted individually by the NIU Athletics Ticket Office.
Season ticket members who purchased a five-game Huskie Stadium package can be contacted by the Huskie Athletics Ticket Office via phone or email regarding adding the BYU game to their tickets. Information can also be accessed through the NIU

Season tickets for the 2020 season remained available at various price points for general admission and reserved seating. The university noted that if further schedule changes occur due to state, university, or conference mandates, season ticket members will have options including rolling payments to 2021, donating to the Huskie Athletic Fund, or requesting a full refund in writing.
