Salina is preparing for a two-day Independence Day extravaganza scheduled for July 3rd and 4th. The community celebration includes family-friendly events ranging from rodeo performances to patriotic ceremonies.
Wednesday Evening Events
The festivities begin on Wednesday, July 3rd, with the Salina Independence Day Rodeo at the Salina Outdoor Arena starting at 7:45 PM. Following the rodeo, a Street Dance will take place on Main Street featuring music sponsored by SUFCO Mine.
Thursday Morning Schedule
On Thursday, July 4th, activities begin at 6:00 AM with a Dynamite Blast. The morning schedule includes an Annual 4th of July Breakfast at the North Sevier Middle School Pavilion from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, where breakfast items are available for $5 for children and $10 for adults. A Flag Ceremony will also be held at NSMS.
Morning Games and Activities
Additional morning activities at NSMS include a Crimson Cornhole Tournament with a $20 cash entry fee per person, as well as kids' games and races. The Salina Fire Department will present the Greased Pole during the children's programming held between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
Afternoon Entertainment Options
Afternoon events include a free swim at the Salina City Swimming Pool from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A free patriotic concert featuring strings and vocals will be held at Faith Baptist Church from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Independence Day Parade Details
The Independence Day Parade is scheduled to line up on 400 East at 4:30 PM before marching down Main Street.
Final Evening Festivities
The celebration concludes on the evening of July 4th with a performance at the Salina Riding Club Rodeo at 7:45 PM. The event will end with a fireworks display presented by the Salina Fire Department.
