The Huntington City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, September 10, 2026, regarding proposed regulations for short-term and vacation rentals, according to a notice published August 28.
The hearing is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Huntington City Hall, located at 20 South Main Street. The purpose of the meeting is to receive public comment on proposed Ordinance No. O-2026-9, which would amend Chapter 9-15 of the Huntington City Code.
The proposed ordinance seeks to establish regulations for short-term and vacation rentals within the city. These regulations include requirements for business licensing, conditional use approval, occupancy, and a citywide license cap. The ordinance also addresses separation between rentals in residential zones, responsible parties, a waiting list, variances, transfer of ownership, and annual renewal.
Interested individuals may provide oral or written comments during the hearing. Copies of the proposed ordinance and related materials are available for public inspection at the Huntington City Recorder's Office during regular business hours.
