Ferron Ranger District closure order 04-10-26-02-01 closes areas impacted by the Black Canyon fire within Emery and Sanpete Counties in Utah, in the Ferron Ranger District, Manti-La Sal National Forest. For public safety during active fire fighting operations, lands northeast of Reeder Canyon Trail, east of Skyline Drive, south of Potters Canyon Rd, and west of Lowry Water are not to be accessed. prohibited on the National Forest System (NFS) lands, roads, and trails in the Ferron
Ranger District, Manti-La Sal National Forest, described below and shown on the
attached map incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A (the “Described Area, Roads,
and Trails”):Entering or being in an area. 36 CFR § 261.52(e)Being on the Road 36 CFR § 261.54(e)Being on a Trail. 36 CFR § 261.55(a)EXEMPTIONSPursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order or a written determination by a Forest Service authorized officer that a permit is not required under 36 C.F.R. § 251.50(e)(1) or (2).Any Federal, State, or Local Officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting resource in the performance of an official duty.Those with Special Use and Range Permits who have coordinated entry with the incident staff.DESCRIBED AREA/ROADS/TRAILSThe Described Area for closure includes the entirety of Forest Service lands on the Ferron Ranger District on the Manti-La Sal National Forest within Sanpete and Emery Counties, Utah that lie to the northeast of the Reeder Canyon Trail (FS Trail 091); to the east of Skyline Drive (FS Road 0150); to the south of Potters Canyon Road (FS Road 0271); and to the west of FS Road 0038 (Lowry Water). This closure also includes Potters Pond Campground and its associated spur roads.
Described Roads and TrailsAll roads and trails within the Closure area described above are closed by this order. In
addition, the following roads and trails are also closed:Skyline Drive south from the intersection with Potters Pond Road to the
intersection with the Reeder Ridge Road (FS Road 0054).The entirety of the Reeder Ridge Road.The Reeder Canyon Trail.Forest Road 0038 (Lowry Water).Potters Canyon Road.Forest Service Roads 2206, 2207, 2209, 2213, 2228, 2232.PURPOSEThe purpose of this Order is to protect public health and safety during active wildfire and burning operations, and to prevent human caused ignitions.IMPLEMENTATIONThis Order shall be in effect from August 1, 2026, at 1200 through August 31, 2026, at 0001, unless rescinded.A map identifying the Described Area, Roads, and Trails is attached and made part of this Order as Exhibit A.
