Cottonwood Fire Closure OrderPROHIBITIONS
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. 551 and 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited in the National Forest System (NFS) lands, roads, and trail within the Beaver Ranger District of the Fishlake National Forest, which is closed for safety due to wildland fire:
1. Entering or being in an area. 36 CFR § 261.52(e)
2. Being on the Road 36 CFR § 261.54(e)
3. Being on a Trail. 36 CFR § 261.55(a)
EXEMPTIONS
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order or a written determination by a Forest Service authorized officer that a permit is not required under 36 C.F.R. § 251.50(e)(1) or (2).
2. Any Federal, State, or Local Officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.
AREA DESCRIBED
Area Closure: the area closed by this Order is depicted on the Map attached hereto as Exhibit A, which is incorporated herein by reference and is generally described as:
Beginning at the administrative Forest boundary and State Road 153 North along the administrative Forest boundary to the intersection of Forest Road 988; Northeast along Forest Road 988 to Forest Road 591, to Forest Road 471, to the junction of Forest Trail 058 (Non-Motorized, NM); Northeast along ridgeline to Mount Baldy; Northeast along ridgeline from Mount Baldy to Mount Belknap; Southeast from Mount Belknap along the Beaver/Piute County line to Forest Road 123; South skirting the fire perimeter to the junction Forest Road 123 and the Beaver/Piute County line; Southeast along the Beaver/Piute County line to the intersection of Forest Trail 224 (NM); Northeast along Forest Trail 224 (NM) to the intersection of Forest Trail 224 (NM) and Forest Trail 072 (NM); East over Mt Brigham to Forest Road 1111; East along Forest Road 1111 to the intersection of Forest Road 1111 and Forest Road 126; Northeast on Forest Road 126 to the intersection of Forest Road 1112 (PST 77); South along Forest Road 1112 (PST 77) to the intersection of Forest Road 1112 and Forest Road 2353 (PST 77); Continuing Northeast on Forest Road 1112 to Hennessey point; From Hennessey point Southeast skirting the fire perimeter past Deer Trail Mountain and Deer Trail mine to the valley floor; Southeast on the valley floor to the junction of Forest Road 2363 and Forest Road126 (PST 77); Southeast from the junction Forest Road 2363 and Forest Road126 (PST 77) to the end of Forest Road 2362; Northeast along Forest Road 2362 to the administrative Forest boundary; South along the administrative Forest boundary to Forest Road 516; Northwest along Forest Road 516, continuing Northwest from the end of Forest Road 516 to the Beaver/Piute County line; Southwest along the Beaver/Piute County line; Northwest over to Forest Road 575; Northwest to the junction of PST / Non-motorized Trailhead of Forest Trail 068; Northwest from Forest Trail 068 Trailhead along ridgeline (fire perimeter) to Forest Trail 066 (Motorized, M) West, then North along Private Inholding to Forest Trail 235 (NM); West along Forest Trail 235 (NM) to the intersection of Forest Trail 235 (NM) and Forest Trail 234 (NM); Continuing West and Northwest skirting the fire perimeter to Forest Trail 066 (NM); West along Forest Trail 066 (NM) to the administrative Forest boundary; North along the administrative Forest boundary to the intersection of the administrative Forest boundary and State Road 153.
All roads and trails within the above-described area are closed.

SR 153, 985, 601, 2355, 972, 988, 123, 126, 136, 634, 479, 1092, 133, 516, 576.
Closed Trails:
PST 05, 062, PST 01, 224, PST 34, PST 32, 066, 234.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this Order is to protect public health and safety during The Cottonwood Fire and post fire containment.
IMPLEMENTATION
1. This shall be in effect from August 2, 2026, at 06:00 and will remain in effect until December 31, 2026, unless rescinded.
2. A map identifying the Described Area is attached and made part of this Order as Exhibit A.
3. Unless otherwise expressly defined in this Order, the terms used in this Order are defined by the regulations of the Secretary of Agriculture, 36 C.F.R. Chapter II, Parts 200-299. If there are terms in this Order that are not expressly defined in the Order or 36 C.F.R. Chapter II, Parts 200-299, their meaning shall be determined by their plain language definitions.
4. A violation of the above prohibitions is punishable as a Class B misdemeanor by a fine of not more than $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for organizations, or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. 16 U.S.C. § 551; 18U.S.C. §§ 3559, 3571, and 3581.

6. This Order supersedes Forest Order 0408-26-09, and any previous Orders prohibiting the same or similar acts in the same Described Area.
