The Canyons Board of Education appointed Angi Holden as the School Performance Director over Canyons Middle Schools on May 5, 2026. Holden, the current Principal of Union Middle, will take over the role from Mindy Robison, who was promoted to Assistant Superintendent for the Canyons District.
Holden is a 27-year educator with experience as an instructional coach, curriculum specialist, and school administrator. Her career includes roles within the Canyons District since its 2009 formation, having served as Principal of Bella Vista Elementary and Union Middle, Assistant Principal at Glacier Hills Elementary, and Instructional Coach at Mount Jordan Middle. She also worked in district-level support roles as a coaching coordinator and instructional specialist.
Prior to her time with Canyons, Holden worked in the Granite School District as a special education teacher, coordinator, and school safety coordinator. During her leadership at Bella Vista Elementary, the school received designation as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2024. At Union Middle, she helped secure consecutive after-school grants from the Ron McBride Foundation.
Holden stated that middle schools serve as a critical bridge for academic and social development and expressed her commitment to supporting school leaders in creating environments where students feel supported and challenged.
She holds a master's degree in educational leadership from Western Governors University and a bachelor's degree in special education from Utah State University. Her professional training includes collaborative systems improvement, AVID leadership, and educational technology.
Holden credits much of her success to her family, including her husband, Kyle, her children, Hannah and Burke, and the family poodle, Ruby.
