A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from Saturday, October 31, through Monday morning, as a cold front brings decreasing snow levels, according to a October 31 statement from NWS Salt Lake City.
The weather system is expected to result in accumulating mountain snow, primarily at elevations above 8,000 feet. Travel may be difficult at times on mountain routes, particularly from Sunday PM into Monday AM.
SkiBrief reported that the advisory calls for 18-24 inches of snow above 10,000 feet in Little and Big Cottonwood. Additionally, a model run forecast approximately 13 inches of snow at Alta over the next 72 hours.
